Hi, hallo, vanakkam! I'm Thivyaa - a queer junior doctor, refugee, artist and polymath with an existential longing that drives my work both within and outside of medicine. Refusing to be bound by borders, I take an interdisciplinary approach to all that I do, most of which is centred on political activism and social change. Thus, be it edible art on cake, a spoken word performance for a keynote speech, or even an anthropological essay, I take a creative, decolonial, critical approach to my expression.

My creative experiences range from paintings, drawings and sculptures to spoken word poetry, embroidery, clothes making, photography, filmmaking, dancing and distinction-awarded creative academic writing. I am always keen to find new ways of expressing, so watch this space!
